Since when does weird = bad?
Is it because ur friends think she's weird? Well guess what, they don't have to date her then.
If YOU just aren't sure about her ask her to go out with a group to the movies or dinner or something. You'll know if she's weiird or not by the end of the night.

What do you mean she's weird, how do you mean weird, if you like her, talk to her first, see how it goes and take it from there, it may just be that she won't be good company so talk first ask her out after.
