Press television, setup, wait for the lights to double blink, then type in the appropriate code for your televison and you are done. Call the cable company for the appropriate code if you threw away the manual.

I had this same problem and was able to google the name of the new cable box and they had the pdf instructions on-line.

My cable box is Moxie - so I googled "moxie cable remote" and it took me right there.
