Does anyone understand Bhaskar's philosophy of science?

I'm struggling through Chapter 1 of "Scientific Realism and Human Emancipation" and it is NOT making any sense to me. Any advise?

You have got to be kidding. Here's hoping that your professor will be able to lecture on this in a way that breaks down all the lingo used in writing on this subject into something that makes sense. Good luck, and you have my sympathy.
