Every ER has a questionnare that they ask rape victims, along with the police. They have a rape victim kit. Why would you ask such a question????????

I am not sure what you are asking. Are you a nurse, and if so they havent told you what to do? Or are you looking for nurses to answer?

I was a cop and I know that is a very delicate issue, but with doctor patient confidentiality I would think you would want as much information as possible. I mean knowing when they last had sex would be critical, if it was not recent you would have an easier time connecting any physical evidence to the person who raped her. And of course you would want a history of STD's, and if they used birth control, etc, etc...

First the nurse has to introduce herself to the victim, provide a conducive place where you can assess you patient...Just ask about her name,address,etc...ask the patient if she was able to recognize the rapist....You always have the victim feel that you are concern...and you are there to help her....
