i connected my ethernet from my 2wire to my imac and only way i can probably connect is wireless, but i want to connect through ethernet just like my dell.

select the apple menu -> system preferences, then the network button. You should have Ethernet as an option in the list if it is connected, and you can edit your settings (like PPPoE) from there.

in addition to that i would make sure that you have your loactions under control so if your mac is not a laptop and dossent go anywhere you should only have one location set up. make sure in the network port config that your built in ethernet is on top and then on show built in ethernet on pppoe use pppoe is unchecked and on the tcp/ip you are useing ipv4 and it is set to dhcp.
