Is it torture handling all that lovely cash when you have large bills to pay and your boss doesn't appreciate you? As that special constable advert on t.v. goes..."I couldn't do it!" Could you get loads of cash out if you wanted?( I wont tell anyone!)

Yes I'm sure they're tempted.

There are other professions that handle huge amounts of money as well and I'm sure that they all get tempted.

e.g. I used to work in a car dealership sorting the money for banking, and it's amazing how many people still pay cash for a car. That meant that most days I was handling more than a years wages in cash, let alone the bankers drafts and cheques!
Tempting yes, but worth it no!

For those who have short perspective, the answer is "yes", otherwise, the answer is "no". Commercial banks generally have good systems to track the wrong doings, from security cameras to their accounting or IT systems. Those who want to "get load of cash out" should instead "own a bank" (don't just be a bank employee); because as a bank owner you can invest the money (owned by saving holders/outsiders/bank's investors) to your own pet projects (and of course you can channel the money to your own wallet to buy luxuries stuffs). all you have to do is be creative with bank regulation.

Bank workers get paid every month. Thieves don't.

I believe that you have to count the money and reconciliate on a personal level. Just like a cash register in a grocery store.

No. After about an hour counting cash you forget its worth. It's just like counting anything else. It really doesn't seem real when you're late coz you had to count twenty or more bundles at the end of a day; that's twenty budles of £25000. If you're a criminal you might want to nick it, but not if you're just an average employee, and yes you would get cought.

I can honestly say it may cross a person's mind but you can and will get caught. It is a very serious thing to steal anything let alone money from a bank. They are very particular to every penny in you hands. Regardless of your own financial situation it just isn't worth it.

If I ever worked at a bank, there is no way I would even attempt to steal money from them. They have security cameras everywhere. You'll not get away with it, no matter how safe you think you are. The camera sees all. Plus, wouldn't it haunt your conscience if you did do it, and got away with it?

I don't know from personal experience, but be practical here. You're in a bank, they have top notch security.
