dark lover by j.r. ward ( The blackdagger brotherhood Series) "i just picked up this book randomly and have fallen for it, it's such an amazing book, the twists are wicked, and it's different to all the other vampire books, it's really worth reading" "In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood but fate brings beth into his life as he must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead.."

I just finished "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger.
It's a love story with a completely original twist. I couldn't put it down and when I finished I was literally sad that the book was over.

Marian Keyes - no doubt. I liked 'Rachel's holiday' the best.
Also 'In her shoes' by Jennifer Weiner. (Great movie too.)
And then there is 'Olivia Joules and the overactive imagination' by Helen Fielding.
And if you want to go for a classic: 'Pride and prejudice' by Jane Austen, my all time favorite.
