Wesley Snipes was indicted yesterday on eight counts of tax fraud for allegedly failing to pay nearly $12 million in taxes and for not filing any tax returns for six years. Federal prosecutors in Tampa said Snipes fraudulently claimed refunds in 1996 and 1997 on taxes already paid, and then failed to file returns from 1999 and 2004. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 16 years in prison. His accountants have been in trouble before for assisting their clients in filing false returns helping them get a hefty refund for a fee of appx. 20%. Apparently he had been looking over his shoulder for a while, since he was not allowed to enter South Africa last year because he was attempting to use a bogus passport. - Moral of the story...when you make oodles of money, the Feds want their share too!

He was indicted for tax evasion. He may be going to jail with Richard Hatch. If he doesn't became top dog as soon as he gets to jail, he'd better grab the inside pants picket of somebody tough.
