First of all, you need to talk with them about it. They may not be as upset as you may perceive. Give them credit or the chance to recognize that you are growing up and are a human. I can say that if they are upset with you about it, especially without knowing the reasons first, then THEY wanted you to go to college more than you may have wanted to go to college. It's alright to take a year off. It's also alright not to know what you want to do at the moment. Trust me, when all is said and done and you've taken that time off, once you return to school (if that's what you choose to do) you will thank yourself later and be wiser for it.
Don't give up though. But at the same time, don't get stuck in a factory job. It's alright if you're failing...you are young and it's horrible to ask you not to be. With this comes a need to not be adult (for lack of a better term) enough to take on so much at once. Allow yourself some time away from school to grow and mature. It won't hurt.
How are you going to know what you want to do unless you go through the process of finding out?
Hope this helps.

They sent me to work full time. I was a waitress for 8 years, got married, went back to college and now have a Master's degree. Life takes us on many different paths. If you drop out of college just don't live off your parents. Try to develop yourself, and don't lose faith in yourself. I only failed because I didn't want to attend, classes, when I went back, I was able to get a 4.0. Your parents may want you to have your education, but if you don't care right now, and you're not really trying...then your just wasting time and money. Once you're sure of what you want to do and have goals for yourself college might look different. Please try to live a healthy life whatever you choose. Don't waste your life!

Ok Colie you don't belong their.
You need to either change course or get a job.
Listen to your parents but ultimately you have to make your own decision based on advice.
College drop outs who don't redirect their goals early become displaced in society. It is not for you get out!
Retrain while you are young enough.
Ask your parents if they want to support you in your thirties and forties because you missed the stating gun trying to qualify in an area you were not suited to.

I don't understand why anyone would even want to drop out of college in the first place. Parents should be disappointed, as should you. I know I would be. But I can tell by your spelling mistakes that you have good reason for it.

They bought me airline tickets to travel through Europe and Asia and told me to think things over. I travelled for two years, bummed around for another 5...then went back to school and now make a lot of money. Worked for me.
