I don't know how severe you're talking, but I once had my leg swell up, and it looked like a big goose egg, all purple and all. Then I found out that all I did was burst a blood vessel, and it went away fairly soon. Hope this helps! Can you help me with my question?? :D

i have just gone through that for a long period of time & it was a torn cartilage in my knee . i took steroid shots & they did great for about 3 months & i had to go right back & get another one. i am glad i finally got the courage to have it done. it was no big deal. i think you definitely need x-rays to find out . i would suggest for now to try ice to help the pain til you can get to the dr. but you are going to have to go. there is no other way just go ahead & make the appt.
