Personally, I've been screwed over by ebay and their so called "safe" paypal. I bought an item for like $120 and then payed the shipping, and the guy never sent the item. This happened in May, and i finally got my money back last week, but I only got $80 out of the $175 I had payed. So unless it is a smaller item that you wouldn't be too upset about losing money on, I would be a little leary about ebay, there are too many scammers, and don't always believe the ratings, the guy that ripped me off had sold bought and sold hundreds of items and had a 99.8% rating. So just be cautious.

I have purchased a lot of things on Ebay. Look at the Sellers rating and read what other people have commented about their purchases before bidding. I have gotten some good deals. read the description of the item very carefully. You can also email the seller with questions before you bid. Ask about their return policy. Good luck.

I haven't bought on ebay. The people I know who have like it. Talk to people that buy on ebay and see what tips they can give you. There is a way to pay I'm sure so if you are not happy you will not lose your money. Ask the ones you find who buy on ebay about that. I think it is Pay Pal.

you have a couple of options 1) see if they offer a $$ back guarentee 2) If you pay using Paypal you have an option of buying some satisfaction guarantee insurance. (it's pennies).
Paypal is the best way to go. I've been burned a couple of times but because I paid thru Paypal they returned my money.
Hope this helps :)

yes, check out the sellers feedback first to see what other buyers thought of their transactions with that seller.
