im planning o go to town with some friends, for my birthday to take pictures and go to the cinema. but now, my mom wants to come, and i dont want her too, i told i didnt want to come, she insists she does or i aint going, so i told i wasnt going to go, so do u think its fair for her to come.

How old are you? Basically, if you are a minor, she has a right to go with you. I know that is not normal in todays world but just maybe she doesn't completely trust you and your friends together. I was a mother of a teen girl once and I trusted her too much so maybe your mother is right,. Sorry. I sure hope it works out for you to be happy. Happy Birthday.

How old are you? If you are under 14, and I was your mom, I'd be tagging along too. But it depends on many factors... the neighborhood, the friends, age, maturity level, etc. I would talk to your mom about ground rules. If she insists on accompanying you, then maybe you should consider how you want her to act. She doesn't have to be central to the outing. Maybe she can sit a few rows back in the cinema or bring a friend of her own so she isn't so focused on you and your conversations. Talk about middle ground and what would be the NEXT best thing. If she's cool, she may blend into the background.
Happy birthday and try to have fun no matter what. Your mom is trying to look out for you and that's a loving thing to do. Later on, you'll look back on this and appreciate that she cares.

Moms are very important, maybe you could try talking to her, I bet she just wants to be a Big part of your birthday in making it special. It depends on how old you are, and if the opposite sex is going or not. Maybe your mom just wants to look out for you. Why don't you ask her what you can do that she can trust you to do without her along. Just say, "I love you, Mom, and don't want to hurt you, but I really want to do something just with my friends. So, what can I do that you will let me do?"

I understand, but I think you should let your mom come b/c she has raised you your hole life and shes your MOTHER. It's only fair that she comes. I know I would want my mom to come...well not all the time but most the time.

I don't think that it is fair for your mom to come because you have the right to hang with your friends without your mom being there.Your always around your mom (HOPEFULLY) and you need some time away from her.

its not fair for your mom to do that. you should tell her she can drive and pic you guys up and stay just see if she will go see another movie that gets over about at the same time. my mom is protective like that and thats what i did.

You should let her go cuz if you go and she doesnt and wen your gone what if she dies and you would have never seen her again. You would have had a chance but u blew it off to hang with your friends that would not be cool.
