hi the Internet provider or (ip) address is a numerical address assigned to each user by their provider (yahoo, Verizon, southern bell). this can be found in windows by selecting the start button, then the control panel selection, then select the "network and Internet selections, then "network connections"then right click the selection that is connected, finally you can look to your left at the bottom and read the ip address assigned to you by your Internet provider.

If using windows, start->run->type in cmd-> type ipconfig and you will be told your ip address. It uniquely identifies your PC or network device on the network.
