what should i do with a stepson that talks to his mother she is a piece of dirt ,breaks things ,and feel no blame for anything he does,. but still he wants the world to be handed to him on silver platter while doing nothing for it.

How old is he? What does the mother do? Do you have the right to dicipline him? First of all dont hand him anything unless he deserves it. Cut him off from anything fun. Be stern and when you tell him to go for a time out or something... MAKE SURE HE DOES it! If he is older in his teens, call the police and tell them to come and talk with him. THerapy might be a good thing. The right attention for good deeds done . you have to stick with your decision! You and the mother have to AGREE on what you are doing or he will only listen to the one that gives him what he wants. you can talk to me via yahoo is youd like, I have been through this

YOU first need to discuss the problem with your wife Depends on the age of the BRAT if he broke things that were mine I would have him locked up for destruction of property. do this every time and he will get the message. If he wants ANYTHING besides food and clothing tell him to get a job IF you don't nip it in the BUD now it will only get worse later it is hard but needs to be done I always told my boys if you dance you must pay the fiddler If you do the crime you do the time

You are in a tough spot. I think this is more about the relationship between your wife and her son. Why does she let him treat her that way. Talk to her about what she wants you to do to support HER in changing the relationship with her son.
Ideally, you guys need to approach him as a united front.
If she doesnt want to change it then I think you need to set your own personal boundaries with him. Irregardless of the fact that he doesn't respect his mum, make him respect you.
And don't beat him.. that will just teach him to be violent himself.

Ok, I'll help you, just relax. At anytime when a son or stepson is being disrespectful, discipline is a priority. If you cant handle him, then send him to military school. That should teach him.

Barring that, make a list of the things he gets for free. Then make him start having to earn those things by doing chores and helping out.

tell him to straighten up , or ship his butt back to his real dads home .........tell your lady the kids actions and lack of respect is going to come to an end one way or the other , it is either gonna have you split or the kid go to his dads house ......she may need to smack the living hell outta the kid .....but as the step father any disipline you hand down will just give the kid fuel to think your a bad dude or something ...... tell his mom to make it happen or you will ......
