Well you can to a desktop. Your CPU is a very important chip in your tower (called central processing unit). If you have an intergrated card you can, however you would have to uninstall it and disable it in hte BIOS (you do this AFTER you install the new one). Buying video cards isn't as simple as grabbing any one. There are different slots. PCI Express and AGP are the most popular. Find out if you have an avalable slot to put your new card... and space. Too many times have I had people come to me asking to install a card and they either had a card that was too big for the box, or was the wrong type (PCI Express when they had an AGP slot, or no expansion slot at all).

As long as you have a free slot - yes. Just make sure what kind of slot is open, many with integrated video only have PCI slots, some have an AGP slot and the newest may even have a PCI-E slot. The three slots are not compatible.

No, you add it to the motherboard. Graphics cards will not plug directly into the CPU... nor have I ever seen a CPU with an integrated graphics card for that matter.... but lots of motherboards have that feature.

You cannot add a graphics card to your CPU, as a CPU is the main chip in a computer.
You CAN add a graphics card to your (computer) motherboard, and the newest fastest are PCI types! 16x is the fastest, but not all motherboards accommodate them.

Vcard on CPU? (scratch head), intergraded vcard on mobo that I do understand. Anyways, yes as long as you have the slots as so many before me have mentioned and disable the int vcard on the mobo to avoid any hardware conflicts.

Yes you can... Make sure you disable your intergrated graphics card in the device manager (right click my computer > properties > hardware > device manager)...

Yes, if you have an AGP(accelerated Graphics Port) or a empty pci slot. AGP is faster.
