downloading music?

ok so i have been downloading music from lime wire
i payed 12 dollars for a year it said that it was secure and legal
so is it really or is it not legal cause i dont want to get in trouble

I think if you downloaded a copyrighted file you still could be held libel. What you payed for is the pro-version of limewire. Only pay per download may be the safest option. However I have never met anybody who has gotten into trouble for it yet.
