What is the recovery time for having sugery for an inguinal hernia?

How much work will I miss and what will my limitations be? I'm 43 yrs. old and in good shape, otherwise.

That depends, if they are doing if laparoscopically, it will be quicker than if they do a bigger incision. Your doctor will have to tell you what your limitations are, usually no heavy lifting, and how long you will need to be off work. Usually at least a week, but like I said it varies with each patient. Good luck. Please get it taken care of, it can turn into an emergency surgery if it gets strangulated.
