I visited my granny and she lives in a really upper class neighborhood. The majoirty of the people who live there are light skinned Asians and Whites. I'm asian but i've been told i look hispanic b/c of my tan complexion. Now when i was at the park, i noticed people looking at me which made me feel uncomfortable. Is it b/c their rich and they act snobbish towards dark hispanic people b/c they think their bette than them, Or do they stare b/c i'm different looking?

In homogenous neighborhoods where most people look the same as they do, some people become uncomfortable or interested by different looking people; if someone doesn't fit in, they may stare.

If they do stare...ignore them, and be proud of your difference. Our culture would be really boring if we all looked the same, so be happy you look different. Embrace your culture, your race, and yourself, because you are wonderful!

it may be that neighborhood is very close knit and they all know one another, so they may be checking you out only because they are aware you are not from there. unfortunately we do live in a society that people still profile and they might think you are up to know good.
you know you belong because you are there visiting your granny and you know you are doing nothing wrong. i would look them in the eye and smile.

its normal for others to stare at the difference,no it isn't always comfortable but that's how things are,i am American Indian and look very different from those in my town,i get a lot of starring and stupid questions, first know who you are and like that person, give very little care to what others are thinking as they are noticing you, hold your head up high.
