It is balanced. The first thing you will notice is no torque steer. Meaning the car will not pull to the right like most cars when you punch the gas since Subaru's axles are all the same size and the correct amount of power always goes to the correct wheel.

Less moving parts than a standard 4 wheel drive system. All wheels work all the time. Better traction and grip, an d superior handling. Test drive other AWD, then try a Subaru and you will see for yourself. Subaru's AWD is one of the best. Audi,MB have great systems too.

By being able to constantly monitor the system and smoothly and quickly transition power between the front and back wheels, it's really quite an anvanced AWD system. Most crossovers don't have nearly this level of control over the center differential.

There's a video on UTube that will help you out here.

Under normal driving you will never notice the rear wheels kicking in. During a snow storm you will kiss the center differential. Under adverse conditions rain high speed cornering and fast acceleration in the rain Subaru's system shines. The rest of the time it is weight you carry around with your car.

It's just an advertising gimmick for Subaru's AWD. It's no different then what other AWD cars have.
