I know Apple has the new Core Duo 2 chipset. I want to know if this is a compatible chipset and / or configuration for the new operating system Windows Vista...

Yes it will run Windows Vista. Though right now the Bootcamp software to do this doesn't support installing Vista. It should have it support when OS X Leopard comes out. Which should be around the same time as Vista.

yes it can run vista on the new chipset,the new OS mac 10.5 leopard should come out with built in support for the new microsoft OS.

Yes I have vista running on it now with boot camp. You have to go out and find all the drivers for it but after that its fine.
