I do know some things emo, they are usually emotionally hardcore, but there are emo bands out there that don't cut themselves or do things like that. Is there like a difference between emo music and emo people like goths?

Are you american by any chance? Not many americans seem to know about emos. i live in england and around were i live the place is infested with them. Black hair, skinny jeans, peircings, depressed..

Emo is a type of music and a trend thats going on right now. the word Emo used to be used to describe the overly emotional attitude and vibe put into a branch of punk rock. The trend is just to wear black and act like your life sucks which is usually picked up by posers. The people who are truly Emo do usually have something to be depressed about or do have hardships and stuff etc.

Emo doesnt not stand for Emotional. Emo stands for emotionally charged hardcore punk which was a genre around the 80's. rock that you hear on tv is not emo. Emo is a fashion statement/style.Its not depression...its a way of life, like prep or nerd, Exept not a label.

emos and goths are 2 completely different things. dont mix them up. emo music is the expression of the emo mind, and there are so many versions of the emo stereotype that most people dont know whats what.

Emo music is just a useless label... so are people who label themselves as Emo.
Someone could say I am Emo because I dres like a nerd (ala Weezer), but I don't cut, or cry on demand. I don't care about labels and hesitate when someone asks me what KIND of music I listen to.

Emo= An Emotional person who either doesn't like life or doesn't like people. Is Emotional.
Goth= People who like the color black. It's a style. They like heavy metal.

emo music is just emotional music, people dont necessarily cut themselves while rocking out...however, emo people are denoted as being more extreme (emotionally messed up to the point of clinical depression and possibly hurting themselves)

emo does mean emotional but it dosent mean u harm urself or others im emo i used to cut but i dont any more. my sister is emo she donent harm herself or anyone emo people r often shy around people U r all wrong!!!!!!! you have no idea what ur talking bout unless ur emo!!! diamond j ur completely wrong!!!
