I remember being told in school that the highest risk time to fall pregnant is the week inbetween your period (2 weeks after they've stopped, 2 weeks before they are due again).
Then a couple of days ago a friend swore black and blue that the highest risk time is actually the week after your period has finished, and also whilst you are mensturating.

HELP... I'm confused! When is the highest risk time.... anyone??

as long as you have and maintain a regular cycle ovualtion occurs around the 14 day from the start of you period. If you are asking for the reasoning of rythematic birthcontrol, its not worth it, ur egg if you drop it on the 14 day of your cycle, it can be fertalized at any point there after. It is not a recommended form of birth control cause no ones body is the exact same from month to month.

women ovulate 14 days before the next period comes. so having sex 11-14 days prior to the next starting is the most likely time to conceive. you are both sort of correct. for a woman with a 28 days cycle it would be 2 wks after it STARTED (not stopped) which is the same as 2 wk before the next one starts. this would coincide approx with one week after period ended
