where do i start! the heat is the biggest thing. However, the PD is two P4 cores on one chip. the Core Duo is two PMs ( Pentium M ) on one chip ( which are based on the P3 ). The Core Duo is much more efficient per clock. And the core 2 duo has 64bit support (which does not matter yet, but it should be future proof), also it doubles the cache, from 2mb. to 4mb.
