Class is the higher taxon.

For example humans are in the Class Mammalia, Order Primates.

Class includes more organisms and is more general than the taxon of order. We belong to the class Mammalia, which includes all vertebrates that have hair and feed milk to their young. The order we belong to is more specific and only includes mammals known as primates (monkeys, apes, man)
