I got all my girls done in the first 6 weeks of their lives. They all wear them. The doctor did it. Yes they cried for a minute.. Then it was done and they stopped. My oldest I think cried because we held her head still and she wanted to move it. I have 3 girls.

The first time I went to get my ears pierced at age 6 I panicked and changed my mind. I finally got it done 2 years later only because my dad brought my home a pair of earrings home from a trip and even then I was scared. I wish my mom had pierced them when I was a baby, because it kind of traumatized me for a while. A baby should get over the pain quickly and won't remember it after wards. And if your doctor gives the OK and he isn't worried about it, then neither should you.

Before having my little guy I worked at Piercing Pagoda in our local mall as a manager. Getting the baby's ears pierced at a young age is a good idea. I say this because the pain is short and fast. She will never remember it. My advice to you is the following....
- Call your local store and make sure that there are 2 people working so they can do it at the same time.
- Choose a pair of 14K earring. Price is normally about 30 bucks
- Take a bottle with you for her to have right after she is done.
- Take support with you (like a friend or grandmother)
- She is going to cry but it is not all that bad.
I hope this helps. Please don't be afraid to contact me if you have any questions. I will be happy to answer them for you.

No. Let her decide when she wants them done. Then make a special day of it with her.
If you must do it now, take her to a tattoo/piercing palor. (Call first to make sure that they will take someone under 18 as some won't even with an adult.) Piercings there are much cleaner and have little chance of being infected as opposed to a gun piercing.
Guns can't truly be steralized. It's forcing a blunt object (the stud) through your baby's ear. A piercer will do the hole first, then insert the ear ring.

well, really its up to you. im sure that a lot of people on here are going to say no, wait till shes older. but i got my daughters ears pierced when she was 7 months old and it looks adorable. when we got it done she cried for a few minutes and then she was fine. shes 14 months old now and doesnt even bother with her earrings and i get compliments all the time. just know that if you do decide to do it, your baby is going to cry for a little while but its not a traumatic event or anything close to it.

I worked in the mall near one of those Jewelry stores that pierce ears for free. I won't be getting my daughters ears done , (she is also 4 months old) for quite some time because all the screaming has left a definite mark on me! She will cry and she will get over it, but will you?

When I was a little girl I asked my mom why she pierced my ears? she said because I was a little girl, and of course I replied with well how did you know if I wanted my ears to be pierced or not??? So, she apologized and told me she should have thought it through.. I personally don't see why she should get her ears pierced?? Do you think that's what she wants.. When she gets old enough then let her decide, it doesn't hurt that much..
but that's just my personal opinion..

I think it's a decision that the child should make on their own.
I knew a set of four sisters...the oldest and the third wanted to get it done, but the second didn't. They all went together. The third was only about 6 or so, but she knew what she wanted and bore the pain bravely. The second knew what she wanted as well and didn't get hers done. There's more self-confidence when it's your own choice.
I'm perfectly happy with my own ears, which I got done at 11, and my mom has no interest at all in getting hers done. It's a personal decision.

I thought most places won't pierce a child's ears until they are 2 years old? Even if you can get it done now, I think I'd wait until she's a year old in case she managed to pull them out or something. Either that, or let her decide what she wants when she's old enough :)

I got my baby's ears pierced as soon as she turned 1 month. People think and assume that it will be excruciating pain for the baby, but in reality, they will feel a pinch of it, yes they will cry, but only for a few minutes, heck, mine was brave, she only cried for like 5 seconds, no joke, then she just went back to sleep. Well, their cartiliage is still very thin, and their nerves system isn't fully develop , so they don't feel much.
