In some states gasoline has dropped to under $2.00 per gallon...Will the cost of gasoline remain low and continue to decline after the November elections?

However, I have noticed the cost of food has gone up. If gasoline has dropped and the cost of getting deliveries have gone down, wouldn't it be fair to say the cost of food should also drop?

And, if the cost of gasoline has gone down due to the drop in oil prices, shouldn't out utility bills be lowered as well?

Your thoughts...

The cost of gasoline will continue to stay near or go down a bit more between now and election Tuesday in November. After that it most likely will start to go up. Should other things such as food and utility bills go down also? Technically they should if they were going to pass on their savings to their customers but many companies no longer do that. With gas prices so variable from one month to the next, many companies will pocket the savings one month and hold on to their bottom line the next. With all of the competition out there, it's harder for business' to stay on top so if they get a chance to make a few extra dollars for a month or two with fuel savings, they will. That's just how business is today.

Pre-election politics, no doubt about it. Can you imagine the cost of feeding a family of five, unless the person makes a top salary, can't be done on today's working man wages. A pound of Apple's cost $1.65 a pound, even potatoes have gone up drastically. The middle class is suffering and it is time to get registered to vote and let your elected officials know, it is not OK to vote large raises for themselves and lack any social responsibility. Kick the bums out of office, vote for a socially responsible candidate, party does not matter.

Politics and economics are one in the same, food has gone up because of the losses this year, due to the weather. So far as our utility bills, they all sleep together. Why would you cut your nose off despite your face......

Economics. When gas started to rise, did you see a quick jump in food prices? Most price changes lag behind increasing fuel costs.

If you look for conspiracies, you will find them. It does not mean those conspiracies are real.

The military had to replace the fuel in the strategic reserve because of the drawdown and threat of the need for more military action. The reserves are full now. We are prepared to defend ourselves.
