I've heard white vinegar has many useful features: cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc...but isn't there an inherent sour odor to it? It's great if it cleans your bathroom floors spotless, but is walking into the room and smelling that odor worth it? Let me preface by saying I've never tried using white vinegar myself, so I can only assume the scent would be quite pungeant. Maybe I'm not taking into account dilution or concentration levels. Anybody used vinegar before and the results, smelly or not?

Good question! I've got maple floors and I was worried that using vinegar to clean them would stink up my home. Although it is stinky while cleaning with it, the scent doesn't linger once dry. I have also used it in the washing machine with detergent to wash towels that were left in the washer overnight and stinky. Not only did it get the smell out, but the towels did not smell of vinegar in the end. Boiling vinegar and water on the stove will also remove burnt food smells from the air!

wow....tell me about the smell of it! we have our own food business and every time when the kids want their chips to be added salt & vinegar the smell can kill all of us in the kitchen and i wonder how on earth could they eat such a stinking thing! but on the other hand i've always used diluted vinegar on our shop's glass window with all these nusense kids doings and it works wonders removing all the stains instantly without having to even scrub it off and when it dries i smell nothing out of it but honestly even if it does who care it would have kept all these naughty ones away! apart of that we also use vinegar to cook for our food usually we combine hot & sour together and it taste well rather than having it just sour. when we cook it, we must have some sense of tolerance for the smell but the finishing touch is always a better smell.

Vinegar is great for all types of uses, especially cleaning and getting rid of insects (ANTS!). The smell while it may be a bit strong does disappear, but it is this same smell, when spray directly on an ant trail, will send scare the ants away and keep them away --- also great as an alternative to using baking soda in the frig.

hiya! you do no longer desire distilled vinegar. Any vinegar is okay. however the final to apply is white vinegar. 0.5 vinegar'0.5 water, you may get stains out of carpet. and you may use for cleansing maximum issues. in my view i like to apply a commercial cleanser. you may get organic ones, yet i would not like each little thing smelling of vinegar. however the final makes use of for vinegar are as a sunburn treatment(a million/2 vin a million/2 water),and cider vinegar ,for treating Athrhitis. 2 teaspoons Vin.Honey,water-glassful. yet once you have susceptible abdomen it incredibly is not any longer a solid concept. you additionally can use vinegar as a hair rinse, and is solid for treating head lice.the different use- while you're taking bathe head off and soak it in neat vinegar,it incredibly is going to sparkling the no longer uncomplicated water deposits interior the bathe head. solid success!

Not smelly and good for cleaning glass, windows, mirrors etc. I can remember my mother using it on newspaper to clean these things as it cuts through grease but use it diluted, experiment starting at a low concentration and increase it until you find what works for you.

NOT! Once it dries, odor is gone.
And, yes, you should dilute it.
