I used this same answer for another question, but it seems like it could help you.
Here's an article I found on MSN that does cover some legit work at home positions. I read through them all and Alpine Access does not require any sort of money or investment:
http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/coll...
Another place you might want to check out are the forums at http://www.wahm.com The boards are full of feedback and the experiences of women who have worked for other work at home companies (including an entire topic on Alpine Access). There seem to be a lot of legitimate options out there, depending on what you're looking for.

I have. I am a software developer and work online for a company in a different country. Aside from this type of situation there is no way to do this, don't waste your time. These places are all scams or pyramid schemes.
Actually I can think of others who have made money. One is serious spammers, which is illegal and immoral. Second is early investors in pyramid schemes, which is also illegal and immoral, and dangerous: since the base of a pyramid is far larger than the peak only a small number will make money, the rest will lose.
For any of them you have to figure out what value you are offering to someone to pay you money. If you cannot see what you produce that makes a check worthwhile then there must be some other way they are getting value out of you, and you probably won't like it.
If you really want to try, Dave's advice is good: *never* pay money upfront. If you stick to that the most you lose is the time you invest, and maybe the friends that you introduce to the pyramid scheme.

I make a very good living from the Internet. I would stay away from sites promoting a turn key business or some kind of a plan. For an Internet business to work it needs to be something that there are not thousands of people already doing. People think of Internet businesses as being easier to start than regular businesses. They are easier to start but just as hard to get going (making money) as any other business. To be successful in business there are five things I believe you need.
1) You need to Love the work - There is no real business that does not require work.
2) You need to know what you are doing - Just a basic knowledge of the fundamentals of that business.
3) You need to start working - I know this sounds obvious, but most people spend all their time reading books, going to seminars, etc, and never just start working. By 'working' I mean what ever the work is that most directly results in profit. Reading book about how to start a business is not working. Besides, you will never know what you are doing until you start doing it. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
4) You need a mentor - If you are going to be successful you need the direction, advice and training of someone who is already making money in that industry. Books are not enough.
5) MOST IMPORTANT! You need to keep working - Don't expect profits right away. Learning how to succeed in a new business is like learning how to fight. There is only one way and it's really painful, so just keep going.
Best of luck

I've not made thousands yet... but enough to keep me happy.
NEVER PAY ANY UPFRONT COSTS... OR ANY COSTS AT ALL!
Treasure Trooper pays well and THEY PAY YOU you NEVER pay them! It's a bit of a game and it's alot of fun. Cashcrate is really boring, trust me, but I have a link for it if you want to use it anyway. You have to reach a certain payout with Cashcrate before they pay you ($5) and Treasure Trooper is $20. I have been at the $4 mark on CashCrate for months and never have got any more. With Treasure Trooper, I have been over the $20 mark for some time now and it's just a lot more fun. The link for it is:
http://www.treasuretrooper.com/106118
They also hole contests you can have against other people on the site including cutest pet contests and stuff on their forums.
If you use treasuretrooper, email me back if you want a list of the offers that they offer that get approved FAST! A lot get approved the same day and it's just cool to see that money add up. Good luck!

Do not listen to "Dave". This website requires that you give your credit card number for a lot of their surveys. They offer a good bit of money if you fill out the survey but only if you complete offers from places like Blockbuster, Columbia House, and BMG. Try www.guru.com. Good luck
