its depending how it fall if it falls hard then it will not live but if it falls soft it will be okay

Well no. If it is a cocoon it will become a moth. Butterfly caterpillars forms a chrysalis before it becomes a butterfly.

dependes if it fell from a high point and how hard the fall was but dont touch just in case it is alive

i agree with kila and shaun. to some extent, but it may b that the cocoon needs the spot it was hooked up to for food and nourishment.
