what are trace elements? i need an example of a trace element and the main function of that element in humans. What would happen if a person didn't get enough of this element? What are some dietary sources of this element?

Trace elements are elements that are found in the body in small quantities, but perform an important function. Deficiency in trace elements causes diseases and can lead to death.

Here is one example.

Copper

Normal red-blood cell formation. Connective tissue formation.
Acts as a catalyst to store and release iron to help form hemoglobin. Contributes to central nervous system function.

You get copper in the water you drink, prunes, mushrooms, Liver!!!!, Shrimp!!, Lobster!!! and others.

trace elements are those that are found in tiny quantities. vitamin b12 has cobalt in it. if you don't have them things don't work right. do the rest of the work yourself.
