No you can't... it is not 12-16 days "after" your period. it is 12-16 days counting day one the first day of your period.. SO lets do some math... day one first day of period Let's say Oct 17th, day 14 ovulation, that is Oct 30th, day 12 is the 28th,day 16 is Nov 1st, you want to stay away from day 14 as far as you can even with protection, if the period is shorter or longer than 28 days so adjust accordingly, the ovulation will occur at the half of the total days between periods, day13 for 26 days period, day 15 for a 30 days period, that system is the less trusty, folllow it just as an emergency

Most likley not, but you never know every womans body is different. I ovulate 3 times a month and have 3 periods(no sickness just MY normal). I have 2 beautiful children and my personal body is just one of those non text book things. I have to be carefull because pregnancy comes very easy for me. It is how your personal body flows. I am more worried that you can catch an STD from using no protection. Keep your body safe and always use protection.

Good day.

Everyone's different. Most people ovulate aprox. 2 weeks from the first day of their period. I got pregnant within 5-7 days of the first day of my period, and I had always thought I had a really "normal" cycle.

Technically you can get pregnant at any time but the odds are different depending on when you last had your period.
