what teats do enggneiers take, i.g. LSAT (law), MCAT (Medical), where can I find a list of these types of tests?

I don't think there is a test specifically for engineers. A lot of graduate schools require the ... shoot, my brain is blanking, they're the college equivalent of the SATs, and they have subject tests in addition to the verbal, math, and logic parts. It's been a long time since I took them, obviously!
