I am owed quite a bit of child support and see that states add simple or compound interest to any back child support. Does PA?

Yes, Pa. Stat. Ann. § 8101 allows for interest at the "lawful rate." This ususally means prime plus 2%.

"Arrears as of xx dollars remitted without prejudice to be REINSTATED in the event of a change in circumstance or ABILITY TO PAY as appropriate" Yes, when he gets social security, he''ll have to start paying a potion to help support his children. If he gets a lump sum, they'll probably take a portion of that to pay some of his arrears because at that point he will be ABLE to PAY. Why is this even an issue? Your husband should WANT to help out financially when he gets social security. They ARE his children, after all. They still need to be fed and clothed the same as before.

From the information I have been able to find ....YES

Pay the custodial parent the interest earned on "unidentified" payments that are not disbursed within 30 days. DPW now uses this interest to help offset the cost of the SDU contract.

Best advise would be to contact an attorney , then have the attorney contact the county court house to set up a payment arrangement. ~~People have been known to go in to set up payment agreement and go directly to jail until their court date. ~~ Guess the state figures they can't jump out on paying while locked up.
