Yes! Am I weird??? I didn't expect them to some when called, it was really a way to tell them apart from the others. Like black oscar I had was named "Oskar" and the albino one was "Ghost". My kids name the fishes now, we have 10 gold fish, 4 are named "nemo" and the rest are named "goldfish" but then what do you expect with a 3 and 5 year old?

I always have!
Amir was my beloved convict ciclid
Billy was my commet goldfish when i was 14- billy was awesome, i had him trained that when i put my hand in the tank and cupped my fingers, he would swim up and sit in my hand, let me take him out, and give him a little kiss. He also ate birthday cake on his birthday, (or what we assumed would be his birthday) as well as, the half barrel he lived in one summer leaked in the middle of the night, and we didnt know it until i went out at noon the next day. The barrel was completely dry, Billy stuck to the bottom. Although i was sure he was dead, i stuck him back in water and he actually lived through the ordeal. the second time this happened i brought him back inside in his own 20 gallon tank
Right now i have the following in my reef tank:

Pizza Puff is my 6 month old spotted puffer, his nickname is Peetsie Meatsie
ButterFish is my yellow damsel who torments Pizza Puff
There's Junior and Senior, the two convict damsels, named for my mischief making husband and his dad,
Slinky the little homemaking Goby
and Paul the angelfish named for my best friend
Ooh, i forgot the two Queen Conch in the tank dubbed the Conch Fritters

I once had 2 marbled angel fish, one named Lokai and the other named Bele (from Star Trek "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"). There was also my gold fish named Henry Limpet.

I think I've just dated myself. ;)

Yes, I have named my fish. I think it gives them a name to remember by when they pass on.

Yes I bought some goldfish for my daughter and she named all of them. We had Goldie, Bubbles, Angel, Shadow, Maggie, and for the fish we have now we have Colorful the guppy, Besha the beta, Angel the beta, Hiedi the albino rainbow shark, and Black and Grey the rainbow sharks, we have two more guppies but names are undetermined as of yet.

I agree with the rest, why would'nt you name a fish. I named mine....except for the ones I used to teach the duck (you know the ones you get for your kids at Easter) to hunt for food in the bathtub so he could be released.
