A charm? you mean like a magical charm?
I would guess by magic, which would mean someone would have to believe that whatever kind of charm it was would work, and then their mind would convince them that it was effective.
If someone doesn't believe in charms, they won't work because as we all know, magic is just an illusion.

All thought precedes matter....if you think or believe something positive...positive things will happen.
Someone who wears a good luck charm and believes it will work will have better results than someone who puts it on but doesn't believe.
It's the basis of all magic, feng shui, meditation, eastern philosophy, martial arts etc....the mind is a very powerfull tool! Using objects or charms with enough thought and belief around them will affect your outlook and life........
"Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." - Frank Outlaw
