In what ways has commercialism influenced British culture regarding sport and music?

There is no such things as British culture any more because of Americanization of this tiny little island. The British love to follow and are following everything American from the PM to the street sweeper. I'll you an example, my local cricket pitch was closed to build two new softball and baseball pitches. It is only used on Sundays. In the same park an all weather football pitch is reduced to half of its original size because it also has two new basket ball courts. Its like Bush saying to Blair "jump" and Blair says how far. Blair doesn't ask how far or why. The same way the British public are following the satanic country of USA.

Greed has made top sport people, musicians and entertainers very wealthy whilst denying opportunity to the masses. People with talent queue to get on TV talent shows - they have talent - but all but the best are rejected to maintain the elite status of the few. A fairer society in many ways would end poverty. we have people living on £3 to 4,000 a year at the poverty end of the scale and £50 million a year for the people at the top. Even Wogan gets a small fortune for babbling....

We have to endure rubbish like the 'X'factor', Pop Idle, and Z list celebrities walking their dogs rather than some decent TV with a plot.

Come back 'Murder she wrote' - all is forgiven. I loved the way every week she killed somebody and then flawlessly framed someone else. Now that's art!

All major sport is now a business and when they are tapped out the commercial guys will move onto something else.
