ok so has anyone read the book called the Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger because i jsut finished reading the book and it doenst make much sense to me and i was wondering if anyone would like to explain the book to me and why its important.

Okay, I didn't get the book at first either.

The message of the book is that childhood innocence is important.

It doesn't make much sense i.e. Holden not making much sense because he is hallucinating. All his ideas are not going to be rational because he is having a nervous breakdown
