To prep: tombe', pas de bouree, glissade in a deep plie', then ...

brush the front foot through grand battement with lots of force and power, to get you up in the air

Push your back leg and butt off the ground to get into a split with some height. Travel forward in the split.

Land on the front leg, back leg in arabesque.

grande.. large
jete.. throw

Grande jete..(large throw) en evant (moving forwards) RC en diagonal (from corner) needs preparation..

example to practise..
1..R, 2..L, 3..R, run.. arms first position throw 4.. L leg forward in a split jump similar to the splits position on the floor (well you aim for that perfection anyway) arms 2nd arabesque R arm forward (opposite arm to the L front foot your throwing forward in spit jump)
and repeat above on other leg.. step on L foot 1.. coming down from split jump run 2.. R, 3.. L and throw 4.. R leg forward split jump (L arm in front in 2nd arabesque), continue down Right Diagonal repeating R and L legs changing naturally like as you would walk normally. You would not walk R, R, L , R so keep the flow and rhythm and the next foot moving forward..

Repeat whole exercise on other side of room on Left Diagonal starting L foot.

Hope this makes some sense and helps you.. :)

Can be done en tournant.. (turning to back foot) grande jete entournant.. one foot taking the place of the other in the air turning fouette like move back to front, but first practise previous exercise and then attempt entournant.. stepping to the back foot and changing direction turning..
Research and ask about this exercise further..
best wishes..

When we did it for the first time in class our teacher told us to imagine we were jumping over hurdles. The trick, though, is not to lift up your legs: first front leg then back leg, but to lift them simultaneously in a split. (This is very tricky, good luck!)
