Hello.....believe me you are okay with this rate..very acceptable. Remember rate is proportional to 2 things.....volume of sump pit and height of float/trip switch. If oyu want to reduce the rate of pump..increase volume of pit (not easiest thing) or/and go with a pump that has greater float-trip height..such as a pedestal pump.

As for the person whos pump is going every 45 seconds..you indeed have a big problem on your hands. I purchased my present home very recently and noticed I had a very high frequency of pumping. (60 sec cycles). I discovered that the water was recycling from a nearby pond back into my weepers by a direct linkage. It turned out thhat the pond was initially used for the sump but the neighbour backfilled his side of the property thus altering the natural drainage and giving me my problem. I found the direct link..dug up the line connecting the pit and pond and redirected the water elsewhere..I have a feeling you are recycling your problem as well..if possible extend your outside pipe as far as possible from your exit point of your house. Also consider having a larger (greater volume) pit put in as well as a pedestal pump. I know what I am talking about because I lived your same dilemma..Good luck and stay dry...

Your sump pump is working on a waft change which will sense the intensity of the water interior the sequence sump. whilst the water quits filling the sump, the pump could provide up working. examine the device for decrease back pass and that the outlet of the pump is truthfully faraway from the abode and not working decrease back in to the sump. If the sump is dry, then the change could be caught and it must be wiped sparkling.

sounds like you are on a well or some wet land.... if your home is on a lower grade you could be getting runoff.

But as long as the pump is working, you're good. Maybe check to see if you have proper water barrier sealed around your basement.

Mine runs every 45 seconds...No I am not joking!!!
I seriously think I have a spring under my house but a
"Water expert" told me there could be no such thing.
I think he's a "B.S" expert.
Even on a dry day in July it runs more than 20 times a day.
You're lucky f that's all yours runs.

It will only run when it needs to if the plunger is set right. If it is pumping all of the water out, then it is ok

Normal is they run when the sump fills and turn off when the sump empties.

If it runs a few seconds, shuts off a few seconds. that is cause for alarm, the check valve could be jammed. too many starts per minute will ruin the motor, then it won't be there when needed.

Very normal. Mine does the same, and I just had it maintenance. He said that's perfect. I also questioned it. As long as it doesn't run more the 3-5 minutes, your OK...
