Just swap out the drives, turn on your machine, and XP will do everything. If it asks to install the hardware, then use the drivers that came with the cd-rom drive.

to make the drive work you don't need any installation disk if you are using windows xp. it'll automatically recognized the proper driver for your DVD ROM drive. same goes with CD ROM drive. to play a DVD ROM CD maybe you need to update your window media player of you can get a DVD player software. normally the software CD come together with your DVD ROM drive when you purchase it. for CD rewritable or DVD rewritable drive is a bit different because normally you'll need a certain software to use the rewritable features.

no. cd/dvd drives are generic. just swap them over and youre away. you dont state your operating system but WXP or W2000 youll be fine. Remember to set the jumper(s) on the back of the drive correctly (master or slave - make your new drive the same as the one youre taking out). easiest hardware job you can ever hope to do.

no all you have to do is remove your Cd drive and plug the DVD drive in. hardware only becomes an issue if you want to have two drives running in paralell. if you want to do this you will need to use jumpers to set up a master and a slave drive consult your manufacturors manual or website for this.

So what you're asserting is that when you extra a third RAM chip to the board it does no longer boot up? My first theory is the chip is undesirable. Will the board boot up in case you replace between the previous chips with that maximum modern chip? If no longer, undesirable chip. if so, then a possible hardware situation with that 0.33 port. make advantageous there is not any airborne dirt and dust in the slot. additionally, with some boards in case you extra extra RAM than the board develop into able to it does no longer boot up. in case you will detect specs on the board those could be effectual in understanding how plenty RAM the board can cope with.

No. As long as you buy an ATAPI cd drive. (most are, so if you dont know it probably is)
All you need to do is unplug all the cables in the old one and put them in the new one.
That should work. If it doesnt email me at: football_masta@yahoo.com
