This is a question that is asked Master Handyman (masterhandyman.com) and he came out and said on the radio, none are very good. Still too many problems with clogging and cleaning. You might want to go to his web site and read his columns on the subject, just put gutter or gutter guards in the search box.

None of them- they all cause worse plugging problems than not having anything. Get that high pressure extension for your garden hose made for cleaning gutters. It really works. Or, put on gutter guard and have a clogged gutter you cannot clean because the guard is in the way.
