I'm a 27 years old female. I love to shop ....actually I shop so much that its getting difficult for me to manage all the cloths. I just like to buy cloths; sometimes I wear a dress once, and then just throw it. My wardrobe is full of new cloths still I buy. I know that I look good on new dresses and I like to see myself in new dresses. But I also understand that it’s a waste of money. I want to get rid of it. Please help……thank you.

Find a better hobby that does not waste so much money and you find rewarding. Obviously this is not a rewarding habit for you.

I swear I have the same problem. Shopping makes you feel better about your life, yourself or what ever - it is the addiction of all the beautiful new clothes. I, however, always suffer from buyers remorse afterwards. I have thought about selling my unused clothes but that seems like a lot of work. I am just really trying to concentrate on saving & paying off my credit cards. I keep telling myself that if I pay my cards off in a year - look how much I can save in 5 years. Sometimes I still slip back into the buying habit even though I have no where to put anymore new clothes.

If you ever find a way of kicking this habit - please let me know!!!

Have a plastectomy -- cut up your credit cards. Take up a hobby like hiking, mountain biking or something else physical. The adrenaline rush from those will be similar to the feeling you get from the shopping (nope...not kidding). Find someplace else to be than the mall. Don't go to the mall alone. Go with your Mom or Dad. Get rid of EVERYTHING that you don't currently wear. Simplify your life. It will give you time to make new friends and focus on other issues than outer ones like clothing.

Good luck,
TxR

try a new hobby, cancel some credit cards, put yourself on a budget w/ a reward at the end of each month. Like i was a shopaholic too so if i was good each month id go out w/ some friends to reward my self.

You should just take a break from shopping!there's nothing you can do about it! you were born to shop..like me! even though you buy.then through out. you should give it someone who needs it and that won't be a waste of money.

Why do you keep buying cloths? Why don't you buy clothes?

Run out of money, bounce checks, get arrested, go to jail.

That usually works very well.

Start smoking crack instead. Then you'll be too broke and too out of it to care about shopping.
