I've been through this too; I know how humiliating and frustrating it can be. A lot more young adults still have this problem than you think, even into college age. Assuming you have no infections or anything, the problem is probably that your bladder either isn't fully developed and is just too small to hold your urine through the night, or else "acts" smaller than it is because of some mixed up muscle or nerve signals. Normally in that situation you would simply wake up and go to the bathroom when your bladder feels full during the night, but if you can't wake up quickly enough (being overly tired or stressed can make this worse!), the urine has nowhere else to go and you end up with a wet bed.
As far as how to stop, unfortunately there are no easy answers but there are a couple of things you might try. Assuming you've seen a doctor and ruled out any physical causes, it depends mainly on how often this happens -- is it every night, or just once in awhile? If you're still wetting every night, you could try using a bedwetting alarm to train your body to wake up more quickly when your bladder is full. Check out http://www.bedwettingstore.com for some fairly inexpensive models. You'll probably have to work with the alarm for a few weeks or months before you're waking up dry consistently, but once you get there it will be totally worth it! If you're only wetting once in awhile, you might ask your doctor about some medicines you can take to help slow your urine production and/or calm your bladder at night. These don't cure wetting, but they can stop it for a night or two at a time, so you might at least be able to go to sleepovers and such and then not worry about it as much on nights when you're at home in your own bed.
Good luck to you. Please ignore any of the rude comments people make; those people aren't worth listening to. You have a medical condition that you can't help right now, but that says absolutely NOTHING about the kind of great person you undoubtedly are! I hope you're able to find something that works for you.

That's happened to me a few times, I was 14 the last time I remember. I was dreaming of going to the bathroom and I woke up peeing lol. My friends say they have too before....its embarrassing but it just happens. My son is almost 8 and still wets the bed every night. We've tried limiting liquids but its sometimes hard with baseball games until 8pm with an 830pm bedtime. According to the doctor, it's "normal" until 16 years of age. I don't agree with it but what do I know, I'm just a mom.

Ok first off dont pay attention to CHRISTY (second post) or the first poster i already reported them :)
My older sister used to have the same problem when she was exactly your age. now what happened was that she had an underdevolped bladder. If that is not the problem then try not to drink any liquids for at least ONE hour or thirty minutes before you go to bed. Also dont think about wetting the bed before you go to bed. Good luck :)

You need to be seen by your doctor as you may have a medical condition that is causing this. Also quit drinking fluids at least 2 hours before bed. Set your alarm for every 3-4 hours so you can wake up and go to the bathroom.

There are many teens out there who bedwet, so no fear. It won't ruin your social life. Good and true friends will understand. (: If they tease, ignore them. Seek a doctor and he/she might able to solve the problem and prescribe you some medicine. I know it sucks, but if you can't go to the toilet before you sleep or whatever, you have to wear diapers. Try GoodNites, they rock ! ^-^ they are discreet so your sleepover girlfriends won't know unless you change in front of them. =D Good luck girl !

2 hours before you go bed then you will be ok.
then you use the RR before you go to bed and if that dont stop your problem see your doctor and you can also set your alarm clock for 3-4 hours after you go to bed! i hope this helps

I would go see you doctor, there could be a physical problem (possibly fixed very easily) that could be causing your accidents. Ignore the first 2 posters, those are very immature responses. Imagine what they are hiding and are embarassed about! Good luck!

You're urethra or bladder may be underdeveloped. Go to a doctor. They can help you. If it doesn't happen super frequently then you might have chronic bladder infections- they can make you incontinent. I would go to a doctor- your primary physician should be able to help you.
