It really depends, how long youv had your period, with in the first 2 years of your period it tends to change, along with the pain and cramping, im 15, i went on the pill bout a year ago because my periods were so irregular, my cramps made me sick, my period lasted over a week sometimes it would last 2 weeks, and the flow was soo heavy(plus im a swimmer, and i couldnt swim while on my period), its really helped, but bout 2 months ago i had to get a higher dosage because the cramping was coming back, and im also another perscription to help with the cramps and pain, so maybe you can look into something like that, thats mainly for pain.

Or just talk to your mom, and see if you and her could at least go to the doctor or gyno. and check out your options. Good Luck.

ask her to take you to a doctor to find out what will help your cramps. there are other drugs that are not the pill. I took a pill called Orudus (ketoprophen or something like that). maybe the doctor will recommend the pill then you have that option.

tips from personal esperience:
the week before your period cut out sugar and caffene which includes foods that are high carbohydrate and turn to sugar such as bread and beans.

most insurance companies will pay for the pill or other medication when it's for the reason of cramps and not birth control.

i know how you feel. the women in my family have horrible periods, ovarian cysts, endometroisis ect. and my cousin's and my doc put us on the pill when we were younger to help with the pain and try to make them more regular. it did help. if you were seen before for your cysts then they should be able to help with the pills to help the pain.

Ask your mom to take you to the Gyn. Explain to your Mom what you have told us here. If you explain it in a calm and mature manner, perhaps she will at least take you to the Gyn to see what he/she says about the problems you have with your time of the month.

Good luck. :)
