everytime I mention evolution in a question, half my answers are always like, obviously you dont understand it or you wouldnt ask.

And no i am not one of those people who asks about why we still have monkeys.

I think the real problem is arrogance, evolution is hard to understand and even well regarded evolutionary biologists disagree with each other all the time. People just do not feel like taking to time out to question thier own understanding.

It has been my experience that most on Y-Answers assume that if you are asking a question you have no understanding of the subject. However a few will still give good answers so just ignore the rude comments and keep on until you get the information you need.

I've decided that on here, you're always going to get odd, obnoxious, and unhelpful answers. Sometimes, if you ask a reasonable question, you'll actually get reasonable answers.

Having said that, though, you're probably often better off by actually trying to FIND the answer to your questions rather than asking them here. But, ask a reasonable question, and you should get at least some reasonable answers.

Specifically with evolution, so very many of the questions that are asked do indicate that the person asking hasn't a clue what evolution is and means and says, or they're asking because they are sure evolution is wrong, and they're trying to convince other that it is wrong, too. Many biologists have very little patience for those types of questions on or about evolution.

But again, IF you ask serious questions, you'll usually get a serious response.

The scientific method is one that is constantly asking questions and seeking further knowledge on a subject.

The easiest way around this method of rhetoric is to start your line of questions with very basic questions.

"What is evolution?"

Once this groundwork has been given, then ask for the specifics.

If someone assumes you do not know anything about evolution, then tell them to teach you what they know. Work in common to find out what evolution is.

It is just an issue of 98% of evo questions being bad copy and paste creationist drivebys, so whenever a real question arises, people assume it is the same...

The problem is it has been politicized (and moralized)--as has the issue of global warming. People of neither side wish to discuss it in an intelligent way. They tend to get all hysterical.

Considering there is no such thing as evolution, probably not. It is a theory made up by atheists.
