Beautiful, golden browns, raking leaves, brisk.
Yummy for the pie part.
Unless your talking about An American Pie, then it's a whole different word game.

A step between winter and summer. It can be a mixed season with very warm days along with cold days. The weather is unpredictable. In some areas it is an enjoyable time for the leaves turn magnificent colors.
Eating apple pie can be described as a step into fall with a taste of nature.

Fall - change - colours that are so vivid it is unbelievable
wind sun rain cool breezes - leaves fall off the trees and cooler air comes at night - frost.... then snow all within 6 weeks in Canada.
You can smell the wet leaves and damp ground.
If you lived here you could smell peoples fire places starting up...it is a nice smell.
Apple Pie = toasty warm smell, sweet smell of apples and crust that makes you want to just sit down and eat the whole thing.

Although John Keats did an excellent job with 'To Autumn'--Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.....Here are some of my thoughts related to the senses (I am from Northern Ontario, Canada)
Sight--Nothing compares to the colour of autumn leaves at the peak of their splendour--I know of a number of English relatives who, not having seen this in person, have thought my photos touched up!
Sound--Honking of Canada geese on their way migrating south
Smell--Burning leaves, wood smoke
Taste--pumpkin pie with whipped cream, Thanksgiving turkey with sage and thyme dressing--all the fixings of Thanksgiving dinner
Feel/Touch--cool, frosty mornings, warmth of Indian summer sun, wind and rain of fall brushing against my face rolling in the raked leaves before composting, getting one's hands dirty and feeling the earth while putting the garden to bed for the winter
Fall is my favourite time of the whole year!
Eating apple pie--so many delictable flavours and textures--tartness of the apples just softened by a touch of sugar and spiced up with the Queen Cinnamon placed within a flaky pastry and topped with a piece of sharp old Cheddar! YUM!

In Texas we are cooling off into the mid 80's on most days. Today we're not so lucky, it is about 92. The leaves just turn brown, like they are dying. eventually it will get cooler, around mid November.
Apple pie, if made correctly, can be the best thing on the face of the earth, especially warm with vanilla ice cream on top! OOOOOH I am getting hungry, thanks a lot!

In four words or two? hmmmm... Well Autumn to me is rusty (colours of the leaves the lovely reddy brown shades) and change (as a new season has begun) It makes me feel sad - as I love summer, creative - all the colours, think of new beginnings and cosy - maybe cos the animals will hibernate soon. Hope this is OK for you - how do you feel about it?

Cold, windy, barren! In N. California between Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, the trees turn the most fantastic orange, red and yellow. It almost hurts your eyes!
To describe eating apple pie is a lil harder. Pick up fork and dive in.
