I need help determining the best single place to purchase three items. I need to get these things to make a magic elixer (just kidding) to combat fungus on a horse's hoofs. The items are apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil and gentian violet. I don't know if I'm better off at a drug store, health food place, grocery store, etc.
I live in a fairly small town so my choices are limited. Wal-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, Eckerd's, Walgreens, Bi-Lo, Piggly Wiggly, Food Lion and GNC. All help is greatly appreciated, but I can only give 10 points to the first correct answer. Thanks.

I'll bet you can find all 3 ingredients at Wal Mart.
Apple Cider vinegar in their grocery dept.
Tea Tree Oil - ask for either essential oils, or ask the pharmacist (it's sold to treat toenail fungus in the pharmacy section).
Gentian Violet - is used to treat Thrush, in babies.
It's avaiable at many drug stores. Ask the pharmacist.

I know what you mean. I live in a small town too! I think your best bet is GNC, but they may have to order the gentian violet. You could Check with the pharmacist at Walgreen's to see if they have the gentian violet in stock. I know the health food store would have the vinegar and tea tree oil.

You won't find those at your local grocery store, thats for sure. The best and also one of the cheapest palces to get those items is:

PS: Braggs sells the best cider vinegar.
You won't find those items for tonight unless you have a Whole foods near you. Gentian is a flower essence and will not be found anywhere but health food stores. The others you should be able to get at GNC. There is a slight chance they have flower essences as well.

If you are anywhere near a Whole Foods Market (also known as Fresh Fields) you can probably find it all...but I notice you are not including WFM in your list.
Your best local bet is probably GNC...hopefully in a strip mall by a grocery store (for vinegar)
But in all reality - you were at the best place when you typed the question. Use your computer! You can probably get it all online, in one location AND have it shipped overnight...

I hate to tell you this, but you are going to have to visit two or possibly three places to get this stuff.
Apple cider vinegar would be available at any grocery or decently sized health food store.
Tea tree oil is harder to find, and you may have to order it off the internet from some organic/health food place.
Gentian violet can sometimes be found in a drug store, but you are more likely to find it in a veterinary supply store/feed store that caters to large animals.
The body shop, or other similar organic beauty supply places may have tea tree oil on hand in a large enough quantity. Hey, but check the Walmart, it may have some in the cosmetics section

Most likely Walgreens....if they don't have it, they can order it - and get it quickly. I've had some odd items I couldn't find at the other places you list, and Walgreens took the time to get them for me AND apologized that it would take two days!
