Is not mandatory but it is nice. In fact you might adopt that as your very own trend.. Looks really good with dark lip-nail color as a deep eggplant .. but I emphasize, is not mandatory. Well groomed, natural polished nails work well with any lipcolor you wanna try, and you don't have to bother when you're in hurry.. of course, if both nails and lips hues are not in the same family of colors (cool-warm) they might look awful (e.g. fucsia pink lips and orange nails)... Neutrals work well even in a different intensity.. Hope this can be a guideline for you, but remember, you might try different looks, take pictures and discover what looks awesome on your very own outfit, mood and combination of tones (hair, skin, eyes).. Enjoy!!

Tips For Makeup
Women have always been crazy about make up and skin care. But it is a foolish idea to treat make up and skin care as different issues. Because, unless your skin is supple and firm, your make up does not add any spark.
Given below are a few tips for great skin and good makeup:
1. Whenever you are purchasing any cosmetic product, first look at the product quality and durability because they should not affect the texture of your skin.
2. To test the reliability of the product, first apply it on the earlobes to check if it suits your skin texture.
3. Moreover do not use items that have crossed the expiry date. Some of the products if not stored as suggested get spoilt easily.
4. Maintain the entire make up equipments because you use them often. Cleanliness is an essential activity of skin care. As part of cleanliness, keep your hair and yourself clean always.
5. Even the maintenance of nails is important. Polish them with a coat of polish and after polishing them always rub with oil at the edges.
6. If you have sunken eyes then use liquid eyeliner instead of using a pencil.
7. Do not apply any harsh chemical without the consultation of your physician, especially if you are having a skin disease. Do not try to slit off your pimples or acne. It may start to bleed.
8. When you want to remove all your makeup, do not just wash your face but apply a make up remover
9. When you are using a deodorant see that there is a distance between the pack nozzle and your skin.

Your nail polish and lipstick does not need to match...although it might be a nice touch. Keep it within the same color family and you will be great!

If you're really into makeup and wanting to look as best as possible, I can give you a list of a few books that are must haves. These are (for me, anyway) basically the Bibles of Beauty.
The Art of Makeup by Kevyn Aucoin
Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin
Face Forward by Kevyn Aucoin
The best thing about these books is that they're much more into showing you great professional techniques than just trying to sell you some "must have" miracle makeup product. They even have sections specifically for males who wear makeup.
You can get makeup tips and order copies of the books from Kevyn Aucoin's website:

Good Luck!

If your toes are visible (sandal)- they better match the shoe color... the nail polish should be a lighter shade or the same color, ... the lipstick color should most of all match your makeup choice and lighter or darker depending on what time of the day it is. (lighter and almost invisible during the day... and more generous for evening/night)

No fashion isnt always about matching. You could have silver polish on and pink lipstick.

No your lipstick and nailpolish shouldn't match at all.
What should match is your eyeshadow to your skin tone for a very natural look.
