During the Middle Ages, the superstition against Friday the 13th grew. On Friday, October 13, 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrests of Jaques de Molay, Grand Master of the Knights Templars and sixty of his senior knights in Paris. Thousands of others were arrested elsewhere in the country. After employing torture techniques to compel the Templars to "confess" to wrongdoing, most were eventually executed and sympathizers of the Templars condemned Friday the 13th as an evil day. Over time a large body of literature and folk wisdom have reinforced the belief. In the 18th century, the HMS Friday was launched on Friday the 13th. It was never heard from again. Since then, ships are not usually launched on that date.

I have heard different theories on this. One is that there were 13 people at the Last Supper and that Jesus was crucified on a Friday. Others say it had to do with the Templars being massacred on a Friday the 13th. There are others ideas too.

Ancient prophesies foretold of a day when the apocalypse would happen. On Friday the thirteenth of an autumn month, three women were taken from their home a strung up. No marks on the bodies as if they did it to themselves. but the rigging was done left handed and everyone in the town knew the women were right handed. One man loudly professed it was a cursed day for all eternity. later word spread that in every town three women had been strung up the same way. News spread like wildfire throughout the townships of the day when the sky turned black and the heavens rained blood. The mark of the devil was on every door in the communities. a large red 666 painted on the doors. Each person began to notice a string of bad luck throughout the community. The parents passed the story from their children to their children's children and so on and so forth. every since then, all those who believe in Friday the Thirteenth have noticed bad luck on that day. Those who don't still seem to experience bad luck but never admit it's from the curse of Friday the Thirteenth.
Blessed Be.
