My niece is going to turn 1 soon. I have gone to a lot of websites looking for cute gifts that you can personalize. I haven't found much yet. Does anyone have suggestions or do you suggest a website?

Most T-shirt shops will personalize...try Harriet Carter, Oriental Trading, and Lillian Vernon.
Personally, I got my nieces loud annoying toys as revenge, because their Moms bought those for my boys!!

I know this may sound cheesy but the best gift my twins got for their first birthday was an "Elmo Love You" doll. That or "Baby Tad" doll. They loved them both at that age.

Why don't you get her something that she can have as an heirloom. Something that won't be discarded in a few months. I suggest a quilt, savings bond (you can buy these at most banks), start her a nice photo album or something to that extent.

Build-a-bear is great. They have all kinds of animals to choose from including a white one with a pink nose called baby's 1st teddy bear. They have stores & on line. You pick an animal,name it,give it a birth date,stff it,cloth it & love it.
They are wonderful!!

What about a wooden toy chest with her name painted on it. As she grows up, she can use it for different things, including a hope chest.

they have some cute cuddly dolls at Wal-mart, My granddaughter got one from her aunt on her 1st b-day and it makes a kissing sound and says I love you. It is really cute and not expensive.
